The iron had a an electric cable which was short compared with other irons (we compared them in stores) and the plug end had not been fitted correctly as there were fibers from the cable covering coming away from the cable. When I examined the plug connection I noticed that the plug had a broken securing clamp where the cable enters the iron to attach to the connectors. Not having this means nothing was holding the cable into the plug. It could have resulted in a short circuit if the cable had been tugged whilst the plug was still in a socket. It also appears that the plug was attached not at the manufacturers as an integral plug would have been used. I have taken pictures of the plug as it was when we received it and cannot attach them to this “review” however they are ready to be viewed if you so require. The box containing the iron also seemed to be missing some “new-ness” as nothing was packed in plastic bags and there were no instruction. Frankly that sort of thing doesn’t matter at the beginning but on further discoveries one wonders about it’s provenance. It works fine and that is good but one still wonders whether something happened to it prior to dispatch. We are a little perturbed.

The iron arrived on time and was well packaged. I paid for postage but when it arrived the iron did not work. The red light did not come on when plugged in and the iron did not heat up. I returned the iron via Royal Mail at a cost of £8.00. I was refunded the cost of the iron and just over £3.00 in postage. The total postage paid by me for a faulty item was over £11.00. I am out of pocket by around £8.00 through no fault of my own. I am a very disgruntled customer.

Premetto che ho acquistato questo ferro da stiro proprio perché economico e per l’uso che ne dovevo fare io pensavo fosse adeguato. Sbagliavo! Al massimo della potenza non é riuscito a stirare una semplice camicia di cotone ultraleggero. Ho provato a ripassare ma ho ottenuto solo il risultato di creare delle pieghe. La camicia ne é uscita più sgualcita di prima. Il fatto che il prezzo fosse così economico non mi ha “messa in allarme” sull’acquisto poiché da precedenti acquisti sono giunta alla conclusione che non sempre prezzo alto=qualità alta e prezzo basso=qualità scarsa.Posso dire che ho avuto ferri di stiro comprati a prezzi leggermente superiori (25 euro) che sono andati bel oltre le mie aspettative sia in termini di efficienza sia in termini di durata nel tempo pur non avendo effettuato nessuna manutenzione particolare. Ho richiesto il reso oggi stesso!

Probabilmente in alcuni negozi di articoli per la casa si trova anche a meno ma Ariete è sempre una garanzia e giacchè è sempre valido il proverbio “chi più spende meno spende” meglio qualche euro in più che qualche anno (di durata) in meno.Acquistato a mia madre per sostituire uno precedente che all’improvviso non ha più dato segni di vita. Le caratteristiche che ricercava erano semplicità e funzionalità – oltre che economicità. Questo ferro da stiro le racchiude tutte. Anche se il prezzo è piuttosto modico la qualità non delude. Funzioni essenziali ma prestazioni altamente soddisfacenti. Adatto per tutti i capi facile da usare intuitivo e con pochi pulsanti. Fa il suo dovere egregiamente. E’ dotato di manopola grande che regola la quantità di potenza di due pulsanti all’estremità per lo “spruzzo” di vapore acqueo e della funzione “autopulente”. Spina classica rotonda lunghezza del filo nella media. Maneggevole e pratico. Consigliato.
