It’s a fairly first world problem however I ran out of regular Chemex filters and spent more on Amazon to ensure I received new filters on the same day as I was having friends over. The filters arrived as expected however when I opened the box I realised I had been sent the unbleached rather than bleached version I’d ordered.This might not seem like a big deal however I’m a tea importer unbleached filters taste weird and create a terrible mouthfeel. If you value your tastebuds you should never use unbleached filters.I had to use the unbleached filters however everyone served was disappointed and I feel like I wasted some pretty nice coffee using these (honestly they’re that bad even when heavily rinsed). Can’t return them as the box is open but wouldn’t even use these to serve coffee to the worst criminals let alone the person who picked and sent me the wrong item.(Picture added showing the smaller size of bleached against the unbleached filter)

Good filters make sure to wet them just before you are about to use them to avoid having a paper taste in your coffee. They fit inside a larger Chemex (defined as 8 cup chemex) if you fold them they will fit into the smaller chemex too but can be a bit fiddley. Never had a filter burst on me and have been using them for quite some time.

Although a lttle expensive these filters are of high quality bringing home the old saying ‘You pay for what you get’
