Don’t buy! It worked a treat and i thought it was wonderful. And then (as with other reviews I now notice) the paint started leaking into the pressed garlic. This can’t be good and I’m going to contact Amazon and try to get my money back. I think that they should remove this item.

Worked for some time but for a long time hated the coating which had started to scratch off a little every time we use this. Its gotten so bad that despite there being nothing wrong structurally with the product we’ve had to ditch it because of the grey coating coming off onto the garlic itself – this can’t be good for us – yuk!I’m leaving this feedback only now as this product came up in my search for a new one. I’m looking for real stainless steel this time!

This product was very good for a few months and now the painted protective coating appears to have worn off the metal mainly where you insert the garlic and also inside the tiny holes so that when you squeeze the garlic through it is covered in black streaks from the underlying metal. It has not been scrubbed with anything other than a soft cloth. I can only presume this black residue is not good to ingest. Surprised at the poor quality as I associate this brand with better kitchen equipment than this.

Quite simply this is the best garlic press we have ever owned and frankly I don’t see how it can be improved upon. It is easy to use – no need to peel the garlic cloves just put them in and squeeze leaving behind the skin behind. Depending on the size of the cloves you can crush 2 or 3 at once with ease. To clean simply use the provided brush that has bristles that align to the holes in the press and push out anything stuck in the press and rinse out with cold water.This is actually the 2nd one we’ve owned the other lasted years but some of the brush bristles had become bent and the metal had started to discolour/flake after getting into the habit of throwing it in the dishwasher to clean. We won’t make that mistake and will stick to using the brush and cold running water to clean the new one. But if we did need to replace it again we wouldn’t hesitate in buying the same one a 3rd time…

I purchased 2 of these garlic presses on the same order (too much effort to return the 2nd). The first press lasted for 3 years. The final piece of garlic won the battle and the connecting rod of the garlic press gave way. Most of the paint had disappeared in this time.The second press lasted for 10 minutes. The face of the piston snapped.In summary: the metal that is used is too brittle for pressing garlic the paint used is not durable and it is difficult to clean. I advise against purchasing this garlic press. I purchased a stainless steel Rösle press to replace this piece of junk – the difference is enormous.
