My hand mixer was 37 years old – it owed me nothing but I looked for a replacement with a heavy heart. Having decided on this one having spent ages researching them it arrived on time well boxed as described. It has revolutionised my baking. It is light (half the weight of my old one) powerful (4 times more) and I am totally delighted with it. It is quite sad really to get so excited by a mixer but if you buy one you’ll see what I mean!

Very happy with the operation of this beater which I bought to knead dough mainly as I have thumb RSI which makes this too painful to do by hand.PROS1. Can stand upright without having a special stand2. Attachments are different sizes so you can’t get them the wrong way round3. Quiet operation4. Two different sets of beaters one for beating and the other for kneadingCONS1. Right next to the OFF position of the tiny power control is INSTANT MAX so it is far too easy to accidentally go to full power when you think you’re turning it off. This control needs to be redesigned to obviate this possibility perhaps with the instant max requiring a movement at right angles to the speed adjustments.2. Power increments too small to be able to reliably choose a speed3. Low power beating is too fast especially for dough kneading.4. On first use I accidentally didn’t pair the removable beater with its matching beater which caused the unlike beaters to collide with each other. This should be rendered impossible in a future design.

Our old mixer that broke was almost 20 years old. I’m a big fan of Bosch products and this one didn’t disappoint. Compared to our old one this one is a dream to use. It seems much lighter than the old one and also much smoother and doesn’t vibrate as much. When whipping something that takes a while our old one left your wrist a little sore but this one takes all that away. Easy to use well built and it is like our other Bosch appliances and tools in the house I’m sure it will last a long time.

So glad I went by all the great reviews. Someone had particularly pointed out how light weight this mixer is in comparison their old mixer and I can only emphasize this aspect as well. If you don’t have a kitchen machine and always use your mixer when combining ingredients for a cake you’ll REALLY feel the difference. One particular cake I used to always feel like my arm was about to fall off before everything was nicely mixed together. What a joy to bake the same cake with this mixer. Oh and it doesnt hurt that it looks really good!

This is the second one of these I have had for bread making mostly and my wife now has the original one (several years old now) for general use and I have the new one to keep up with bread making.This is the best hand held mixer I have found to use so first class to Bosch.
