I’ve been looking for a reliable rack to use in my Brandes anodised roasting tray. Having got through two Le Creuset enameled racks where the coating hasn’t srvuved repeated dishwashing I wanted something in stainless steel that fits. This does the job nicely and seems to have survived the dishwasher fine so far.

This rack appears to be made of TRUE stainless steel. I’ve used it repeatedly for broiling. It cleans up easily which was important to me because I don’t trust non-stick coatings to be safe.It’s not rusting or changing colour so it appears to good quality real stainless.Welded joints are very clean. Well-made.I wish Scanpan would make a flat version of this and a tiny bit larger that I could use for fish filets.

Great quality roasting pan but the dimensions listed are for the box it arrives in and not the pan. This should be made clear in the listing. Much smaller than what I was looking for.

I’ll preface my comments by saying that I paid substantially less than the current listed price for this roasting rack because I found one on clearance.I love the size. This rack in the large size is an item that I have not been able to find in any local retail store. The quality seems to be a bit above average when I compare it to other similar racks that I’ve owned. The metal itself is slightly thicker as well. I feel like I’ve gotten a good value for the price that I paid for it.Finally for those who are wondering it is made in China.

I can hardly wait to order the larger version for when I do a big turkey – but I’ve been able to roast a 16lb turkey on this.Yes it is small but it is all in how you prepare your turkey (or roast beef). I always truss my birds and make big rolled roasts. I usually do 12-13 lb turkeys in a baker bag with the rack inside the bag. I do the same for chicken and for beef roasts. This keeps the meat out of the bottom of the bag so it doesn’t stew in it’s own juices – I get a beautifully browned roast (or turkey) that isn’t greasy – and I can empty the bag into a bowl to cool separate the fat on top the use all the pan juices to make soup gravy or whatever. It works like a charm.If you roast in a baker bag it’s smaller size allows you to fit a bigger bird or piece of meat in a bag that fits and still close the end of the bag because the rack doesn’t ‘steal’ too much of the bag.The best part is that it doesn’t poke holes in the bag like most roasting racks and that I can leave it to soak if anything sticks to it (because it will never rust) and I can scrub it if I need to without scrubbing off a shiny coating like most plated roasting racks have. What a nightmare that was for years. Now I’ll never have to deal with that again. This item is a dream.
